This contemporary engine features dual overhead cams and delivers vast improvement in both fuel efficiency and noise reduction over the previous Wrangler powerplant. The Pentastar advances horsepower output from 202 to 285 -- and torque by roughly ten percent -- resulting in much quicker acceleration. The stock Unlimited model now moves from zero to 60mph in only 8.4 seconds... a full 3 SECONDS FASTER than its 2011 counterpart. A new 5-speed automatic transmission further enhances powertrain efficiency.
