Vehicle Overview Offered in 328 and twin-turbo (now gasoline or diesel) 335 models, BMW's 3 Series is the luxury automaker's bread-and-butter model. Available in sedan, wagon, coupe and retractable-hardtop convertible body styles, the 335 competes with the Infiniti G and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. New for 2009 Most notable is the introduction of the 335d, with 'd' signifying that this 335 is diesel-powered. The 335d will only be available as a sedan. Exterior The 335 features a long hood and short front overhangs. The coupe and convertible look much like the sedan, but they have sleeker styling and a different front end. Diesel engines are known for their fuel efficiency, and BMW puts preliminary mileage estimates at 23/33 mpg city/highway, although official EPA estimates were not available at the time of publication. The 335i sedan is rated at 17/26 mpg.
