2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage, 6 speed manual, Blue with two tone blue interior. 2nd owner, clean history, just serviced, Stunning example. The following is an independent drivers review on this particular car:I knew I was in a British automobile the moment I sat in the Vantage just from the design of the handbrake. It sits on the left of the driver`s seat and slips down out of the way when not being used to engage or disengage the brakes. Len had to show me how it worked! The design epitomizes Aston-Martin`s approach to its luxury sports cars, which can be best described as a touch of British nostalgia for the 1930s, superbly luxurious, rather clubby interiors, and elegant lines that charm you and onlookers when you take off on a romantic weekend. By the same token, the power under the hood is awesome. By any standards, this is a powerful automobile, designed to travel fast in a thoroughly civilized manner. Superbly crafted leather seats cushion and support you in traffic or around the corners as you sit low to the road with a long hood in front of you. The coupe`s curving roof sloped back close overhead. With such a configuration, visibility is, inevitably, a trifle limited on each quarter, but you soon get used to using your mirrors and turning your head when changing lanes. The Vanquish has stiff suspension as befits a sports car of this type, which means you feel the imperfections of the pavement in traffic. But the smooth pickup and admirable 6-speed manual transmission make navigating congested city streets relatively straightforward. This is hardly a car for the mall, although it will carry your shopping bags nicely. Vanquishes belong on the open road, where there are curves to be tackled with panache, and where you are concerned not with cornering to the limit, but with enjoying every moment of a mountain road. The handling lightens up seamlessly as you go faster. The acceleration is smooth and neck turning, accompanied by a lovely burble from the rear, but this is not one of the extreme sports cars marketed by other manufacturers. This is unashamedly a grand touring car in the classic tradition, where your primary objective is to travel fast and utterly comfortably, and with the kind of leisurely yet rapid stride that can only be achieved with a 8-cylinder engine. The gearbox is superb, with nice short throws and an utter ease of use that allows you to play the box on hairpins and when you just want to go fast. This is very much a driver`s car, which begs to be driven hard and fast, designed for the driver who knows what he or she is doing at speed. You will never push the Vanquish to extremes it`s not designed for that but you`ll enjoy a classic driving experience second to none. Aston builds these cars for such drivers, and in small numbers at that. This particular example is a very nice car, attractively priced, and looking for an enthusiastic owner who likes to drive hard and fast without pushing the limits. You`ll be richly rewar
