2004 Mercedes Benz SL500, Navigation, Bluetooth, Heated & AC Seats, Wood & Leather Steering Wheel, Park Distance Control, Keyless Start. Read the following drivers review:Few automobiles have the panache and luxury of Mercedes coupes, which waft you across the countryside in supreme comfort and safety. The moment you sit in the car, it feels solid and well put together. The leather seats are sinfully relaxing, yet support you nicely when you round sharp corners. You can enjoy the car as a hardtop coupe or as a convertible, the changeover merely requiring that you are stationary and the pressing of a nicely located control between the seats. I tried both configurations, the hardtop in traffic, when I found there was plenty of visibility, and the convertible in open country. You slide along quietly through city streets with a soft burble from the engine, especially when you press the throttle at the lights. With everything closed in, you are completely isolated from distractions of any kind. The 500 is perfectly at home in traffic and more than adequate for those day-to-day chores that consume so much of our lives. However, it really comes into its own on the freeway and open country roads, for ultimately this is a touring car in the best sense of the word. The V-8 propels you effortlessly into the traffic with cruise control close to hand as the car devours the miles. With the top down, the wind disturbance is minimal and the car quiet enough for civilized conversation. All very relaxed: it comes as somewhat of a surprise to find you have covered 25 miles in no time. This is an unobtrusive, highly refined freeway car, nurtured on German autobahns and capable of covering hundreds of miles in a day without a second thought. Now get off the freeway, put the 500 into Sport mode and use the gears. You have ferocious acceleration to hand when the engine kicks in with a refined snarl and you find yourself doing 60 in no time. The car sweeps majestically around broad curves, helped by wonderfully precise steering and smooth acceleration. When the curves and hairpins appear, the car is unruffled and takes you through even severe turns as smoothly and effortlessly as you could wish. Third gear is especially versatile, with second a lovely option for hairpins. You`ll find yourself turning in respectable speeds on windy roads without realizing it, the car is that poised and good. This is not an automobile given to violent extremes, just a superbly designed, engineered, and built touring car for weekends away in the country or for that cross-country trip you`ve always wanted to make. Both handling and comfort are flawlessly executed in a car whose original cost was well into the six figures. This particular example is in near-perfect condition, has quite reasonable mileage for its age, and is extremely attractively priced. Almost anyone could afford to buy this very lovely motor car, but if you so, be warned. Mercedes coupes are profoundly addictive.
