First introduced in 1986 as the B2000, the B-Series pickup has grown both in size and engine choices while evolving into Mazda's contender in the growing compact-pickup market. Redesigned in 1998, the B-Series targets drivers who use pickups more for personal use than on-the-job chores. Changes made for the 1999 model year included a restyled exterior, improved handling, increased interior space and a new 4-cylinder engine for base trims. The Mazda Truck shares a platform with the Ford Ranger, but is distinguished by different styling and packaging.
