Vehicle Highlights, Addition of a popularly equipped SE model signals 2002 as the final model year for the current Accord design. The redesigned 2003 Accord will reportedly retain the current car's styling themes and basic exterior dimensions, but have more interior space and a larger available V6 engine. The 1998-2002 generation closes out with a price-leader DX sedan and DX-based VP sedan, both with a 4-cyl engine. The top-selling LX and upscale EX coupes and sedans offer 4-cyl and V6 power. Four cyl models come with manual or automatic transmission, V6s with automatic only. The new SEs are 4-cyl coupes and sedans that upgrade LX equipment with standard alloy wheels, sunroof, remote keyless entry, cassette/CD player, imitation-wood interior trim, and power driver-seat height adjuster. ABS is standard on V6s and 4-cyl EXs, optional for the 4-cyl LX sedan with automatic transmission. All Accords offer optional front side airbags. The dashboard airbags have occupant-position sensors. V6 models have standard traction control. EX versions gain steering-wheel audio controls for '02.
