2001 Nissan Maxima SE

Nissan's flagship sedan offers base GXE, sporty SE, and luxury GLE models. All have a V6 engine of 222 hp, or, in SE Anniversary Edition models, 227. GLE comes only with automatic transmission; the other models offer manual or automatic. ABS is standard, front side airbags are optional. Traction control is available on all but the GXE. Anniversary Editions add a limited-slip differential, lower-body "aero" kit, and some aluminum interior trim, plus 17-inch wheels versus 16s on GLE and the regular SE, 15s on the GXE. Steering-wheel audio controls are newly standard for SE/GLE, optional for GXE.
