1976 Porsche 914 2.0 liter. Very rare find! This 65,000 mile car has been carefully returned to near perfect condition. This 914 was built October of 1975. This is one of only 4100 produced in the last year of the 914. , This car retains its original Fuel injected 4 cylinder engine. The 901 5 speed transmission shifts nicely, benefitting from new shifter and shift rod bushings. , This car was refinished some number of years ago in the correct L97B Anacona Blue Metallic. This is the correct original color and was done to a high standard. The paintwork is not evident in the jams or on the panel edges. It is evident in the front cowl and on some of the rubber window trim. The paint has a good deal of shine however It is not a show quality repaint. The paint preparation is mostly good. Where they did not do the best work was in the prep of the doors. They do not show in the photos but they are a little wavey. There are also some areas where there was some debris left in the paint. We have color sanded all of the big bumps out, but some bumps remain. The sides of the car have minor indentations, ripples or door dings that were not tended to before the respray. A good PDR technician could perhaps get them out, but you run the risk of damaging the paint. Since they don’t bother me that much, I have opted to leave them alone. There are some areas where they got overspray on the door seals, front cowl screen, right rear suspension console, and others. Overall the paint is very good and appears to be holding up pretty well., The original Grey and Blue Plaid Cloth interior is in remarkable condition. The seats are firm and the cloth is in great condition in all aspects., The original crack free dash has a gleam and shine that reflects this cars’ indoor storage status., All knobs, switches and interior pieces are in good shape. The interior is very nice. The Targa top sports an incorrect refinish where they eliminated MOST of the texture that the original targa top had. While making this “modification” new Targa top front & rear rubber seals were installed. This car still sports solid original steel heat exchangers with functional air control valves. The heat does work. This 914 is optioned with the appearance group getting the new owner a center console, Fuchs Alloys and fog lights. We will include an original Colgan Porsche 914 Bra with the sale . There is a green screw in the battery ground cable to function as a simple battery disconnect. This car has covered a scant 65K original miles. I've owned it for 2 years. This car shows that it has been garaged most if it’s life. Chassis, This is one very solid 914 chassis WITH TWO EXCEPTIONS., 1. The area under the battery – the infamous HELL HOLE. This car has rust there. I am not going to fix it. It is minor IMHO. I have included a photo of the rust to the best of my ability. If contacted I will forward ALL of the photos I have shot of this area. The rest of the car is nice enough that I do not see an IMMEDIATE need for this to be tended to., 2. Front clip – as some point in the history of this nice car, it was hit hard enough that someone sectioned in part of a nose. The welds are almost imperceptible. I missed them the first time I looked at the car. The welds are high quality. They selected a nose that had some rust in it behind the fog light mounts on the leading edge of the nose. The rust appears to have been stopped in the repainting process. It is there. It is not growing. It does not bother me. These cars are getting harder and harder to find. I have owned 15 of them over the years and currently race a 914-6 successfully in Vintage. Search on youtube for Big Bore Enduro for an entertaining 914-6 video. I had tranny troubles and did not finish the race… , There is no visible rust in the sail panels.
