This 2 owner car was acquired in trade at the Fall Carlisle swap meet. The car was built in the St. Louis plant and was shipped to PA where it spent its entire life. The second owner purchased the car in 1974 then having only 4,600 miles. This LS5 has been recently taken off the frame, the motor was freshened u during the restoration and only driven a few hundred miles since completion. Numbers matching drive train, beautiful Targa Blue paint (orig. color), no hit fiberglass body with perfect body lines. The car has a high gloss finish that is smooth as glass. No spider web cracks or checking in the mirror finish, only minor road rash in rear dog leg areas, hardly noticeable. The chrome bumpers are original and exceptionally nice. This Corvette was never driven in bad weather. Soft Ray tinted glass is original including the shaded soft ray windshield, which is in really nice condition. Bright work and stainless are brilliant as well as the orig. weathers trip, window felts, t-tops gaskets are not dried or cracked. Factory radio antenna is excellent as well. 15 factory Rally wheels with orig . trim rings and center caps, also, in fantastic shape. Firestone FR380 red line radial tires have about 90% tread. The cars functions, headlamps, wiper door, back up lights...everything works fine. The interior of the car is original except the carpet was changed. Dash board, instrument cluster, tach, gauges, all work fine. Clock is inoperative. Am-Fm factory radio plays excellent. Door panels, center console, door hardware, interior roof panels are all original and considered excellent. Nice tight doors that close like they di in 1972! Last year for the pop-out rear window and of course, chrome front and rear bumpers makes this C-3 a very collectible car. Only 41,957 pampered miles since new! The under carriage was refinished in GM 60% satin black finish and shows well. Stock OEM style dual exhaust system. Durign the restoration, the front end components were replaced, ball joints , upper And lower control arm bushings, sway bar links, brake hoses and brake lines, calipers were overhauled using stainless steel sleeves. New body mounts, rear trailing arm bushing appears to have been replaced. Springs appear to be original to the car. Looking at the other major components, they appear to be date component correct, except the smog emissions was removed from the first owner. Visibly correct engine bay with the correct GM hoses, except for a few clamps this car has a factory fresh appearance. Orig. radiator and over flow canister intake, carb, air cleaner element, dist., and dist. shielding, braided spark plug wires. Factory exhaust manifolds with the smog port lugged off. the previous owner stated that a fair amount of cylinder head work was done to increase the horsepower closer to 1971 specs around 365hp. Driving the car is a real pleasure. It has tremendous throttle response, no rattles or squeaks. Poer steering, PB, tight tight steering and brakes that stop on a dime. Basically, a beautiful 2 owner, #s matching car with extremely low mileage. Investment grade.
