You can purchase this FULLY RESTORED 1971 TR6 Small Bumper roadster with complete confidence! Why? Because we will show you the history of the car going back to its days as a Blue Plate California car right through the massively expensive restoration of the last ten years! If you are an informed TR6 buyer, you know the importance of starting with a (rare) TOTALLY RUST-FREE car. Pictorial documentation from the early stages of restoration will show that the body had NO PERFORATIONS from rust; remarkably, the floor and trunk pans are absolutely original! You will also appreciate the really difficult and expensive work done to correct the common flaws plaguing most TR6s, such a rewelding and reinforcing the differential mounts, installing new camber brackets to correct alignment, and the upgrade to KYB tube rear shocks. Of course, from front to rear, all new parts were used to restore the car including, but not limited to a full new interior from The Roadster Factory, including a Robbins material top and cover (but without the unattractive reflective tape), trunk linings and mat, steering wheel cover, and shifter cover. Externally the car received a strip to bare metal and flawlessly painted the correct Signal Red, with new stainless trim, mirrors, grille, spoiler and lights added. Of course, the '71 has the much-coveted narrow chrome bumpers and these have been replated. Stainless steel trim rings replaced the dented chrome steel originals and all 5 wheels were reconditioned. Under the hood, virtually everything is new! The unpredictable Stromberg carbs have been replaced with much more accurate Weber downdrafts for quick starts and strong acceleration (the original carbs are included). Ignition by Pertronix. Engine was been rebuilt a while ago and the cylinder head freshly rebuilt - NO SMOKING! Clutch master/slave/disc/lines are new. Brakes and lines are new. The entire front and rear suspension has been rebuilt with some polyurethane and some rubber (didn't want a brutal, race-car ride). The car was NOT frame-off, because it was not necessary as the frame was strong and rust-free, but most body mounts were replaced. Overall, this is a handsome and reliable English Sports car capable of 8 second 0-60 times with a true wind your hair, bugs in your teeth experience but without the side-of the road in the rain, choking on your own exhaust trials typical of unrestored cars of the era - no matter how "nice" they were kept. And, trust me, you could not recreate this amount of work for the price you'll spend here, and we've got the receipts to prove that!
