Price: $39,900.00 1970 Chevelle SS 454 The owner has had the car for three years and restored everything except the exterior paint. Although the paint is in good condition there are some chips and caulking along the roof drip edge the factory did which needs to be sanded out for a show standard finish. The car was born as Astro Blue and sometime along the way was repainted to the classic Cranberry Red. The 454 engine runs very strong, does not leak or burn oil. The transmission is a Turbo 400, TCI 10 inch 3500 stall converter, Trans go shift kit, Tran’s cooler with driveshaft safety loop. The 12 bolt rear end has a posi carriage, original 3:31 gears and new axle bearings and seals. The bushings in the car have all been replaced with energy suspension polyurethane bushings, including the control arms. New tie rods, tie rod ends and new shocks front & rear. It has the 1 ¼” front sway bar and the 1” rear bar with lower boxed control arms making up the factory F1 suspension package. Brake lines have been replaced, new front rotors, calipers and pads and new rear cylinders ,shoes, wheel bearings and new self-adjusting hardware kits. Park brake cables are new, new correct style master cylinder/booster assembly and distribution block. Hooker headers connect to the 2 ½” aluminum exhaust with an equalizer pipe, correct exhaust tips and Flow Master mufflers which give the car a real mean sound. The interior has all been replaced, new headliner, seat upholstery, new foam in front buckets, new front and rear panels, new carpet with sound/heat insulation underneath, all instruments and lights work and yes even the clock. The car has all its seat belts and they all work correctly. Car has correct style transmission temp., oil pressure and voltage regulator gauge pack under dash. AM/FM radio has been professionally rebuilt with an impute connection for iPod/MP3 player installed. New speakers installed in front and rear with a fader switch for front to rear control. Original air conditioning and heating has been removed and a new Classic Air system installed which works great. Car runs at a typical big block 200-210 degrees and cooled by a 3300 CFM Flex-a-lite electric fan/shroud and has a big block 4 core radiator. Car has all new belts, new 100 amp alternator and a new slim line starter wrapped in heat insulation. Wiper motor is new and the windshield washers work. Accel super H.E.I. coil cap, Taylor 10.4 mm wires and new heavy duty correct side post battery and cables. The car has a high performer Edelbrock fuel pump connected to a dual gas feed with adjustable pressure control, pressure gauge and filter all connected to a new 750 cfm double pumper polished carburetor with electric choke. The mild cam gives the car a nice sounding lope. The original 14” wheels have all been sandblasted and repainted to correct colors; spare has wheel and center hub but owner never got around to purchasing a tire for it. The period correct tires are in great shape and have a lot of tread. There are no cracks in the glass or delaminating, the two back window regulators have been modified so now they roll up and down as they should. Door and window handles are new. The cars wiring has been completely gone through and returned to factory specifications. All the electrical wiring drawings prepared at time of refurbishment comes with the car. Car comes with the three Fisher Body Service manuals, Chevelle SS Restoration Guide and a folder of paperwork on replacement parts like the AC system. There is a car cover that goes with the car also. The SS bumper pad is in great shape and does not need to be replaced. The mirrors, drip molding and wheel opening molding have all been replaced. The window moldings are all in great shape. The original T-3 headlights have been changed out to halogen but the original T-3’s go with the car.
