We’re throwing quite a decision at you — drive it or store it away? On one hand, this gorgeous restored 1969 GTX, 440, Air Grabber is a true collectible, while on the other hand, it’s a gorgeous restored 1969 GTX, 440, Air Grabber that drives flawlessly! Good thing I don’t have to make the call! Flip a coin and choose “drive it!” Twist the key and watch the motor fire straight to a rock steady idle. Power front disc brakes and rear drums make for light controls, the automatic transmission shifts on a dime and power is available immediately. The cabin is comfortable while on the road and the doors close perfectly. Open the hood and check out that beautifully painted 440. Underneath that giant air cleaner is a Weber carb. Check out the underside of the hood, and you will see the Air Grabber unit with a fresh rubber gasket. A new alternator, rebuilt distributor, new master cylinder and refinished radiator are just some of the upgrades under the hood. All of the wiring has been replaced as well. There is a fresh paint job on the core support, inner fenders and firewall. This GTX is clean under the hood. All this and it runs awesome! On the lift you’ll see the highly detailed undercarriage that has been cleaned up and nicely painted. Out back you will see the freshly re-chromed bumper and matching polished chrome exhaust tips. The exhaust pipes have been painted with high temperature paint, and matched to a set of Glass Pack mufflers. The shocks are new and the bushings on the springs are in good shape; they could possibly have been rebuilt as well. The pinch welds on the rockers and frame members are in fantastic shape, showing no signs of rust or abuse. There are new brake lines, and the fuel lines and u-joints are in great shape. Up front you will find new shocks and new bushings in the front end. Inside just about everything’s been restored or replaced from the headliner to the carpet! The gauges are all clear, the bucket seats are clean and comfortable and the dash is in great shape. The door panels are in outstanding shape with faux wood grain inlay and brand new shiny door handles. The center console top plates and console itself looks fantastic. The wood grain dash panels are nice, too - overall this is an excellent place to spend time or collect admiration! Sitting still or moving at a rapid rate the car looks awesome. Shiny Sunflower yellow paint lies flat on the body, complimented very nicely by the matte black on the hood. Fresh emblems, re-chromed and new shiny pieces and clear lenses add shine to a businesslike exterior. The Air Grabber hood vents are red as they should be. Stainless trim pieces have undergone a full polishing job as well.
