1966 Pontiac GTO Unknown

Very well optioned GTO that includes factory air conditioning and automatic transmission! A terrific car for the true driver enthusiast! Leading into the third year of sales, the GTO continued to find sales soaring in popularity. Because of this, GM finally gave the GTO its own model line versus being a performance package option for the Lemans model series. Also in 1966, Pontiac was already developing a new engine for the 1967 production year making this the last of the 389ci V8 examples ever made! Moreover, it would be the last GTO available with a tri-power carburetion option for the horsepower hungry buyers! The stacked headlights, new aggressive grill and louvered taillights made these cars as sinister as they iconic to the muscle car collectors! Features on this 1966 Pontiac GTO hardtop include non-matching “YR” Block, correct cast iron 9778878 intake, correct tri-power Rochester carburetion, correct code “77” tri-power heads, 7-blade clutch fan with Harrison radiator, factory air conditioning (R134a conversion and blows cold), 14” Rally I wheels wrapped in Firestone redline tires, factory power steering, factory power brakes, original Powerglide automatic with center console, original rear end with 3.08 gear ratio, correct color code V-V: Mission Beige exterior, correct interior code B: Black, original AM radio, door edge guards, and all tinted glass! This car sold new from Dockum Pontiac in Oklahoma City, OK. It’s been wonderfully maintained and cared for since new! Repainted professionally in approximately 2001 along with a full engine rebuild. Air conditioning works, newer F70-14 Firestone redline tires, adjustable rear air shocks, and exhaust added more recently. PHS documentation included.
