Beautiful, early MGB MkI "pull-handle" roadster! Owned and cared for by long-time MG enthusiast for the last 21 years! All maintenance history and records included! A rare overdrive transmission car!! Beautiful, early MGB MkI "pull-handle" roadster! Owned and cared for by long-time MG enthusiast for the last 21 years! All maintenance history and records included! A rare overdrive transmission car!! This older restored 1965 MGB roadster MkI roadster was fully restored in late 1989. Finished in Tartan Red base coat/clear coat with black leather interior accented with white piping! These early cars are quite desirable for their unique "pull handle" door handles. This particular car also has a new black canvass "stow in boot" convertible top. During the restoration, a full width, padded roll bar was welded in for added strength. Options include 1800cc engine with dual SU carburetors, 4-speed manual transmission with electronic overdrive, leather wrapped steering wheel, dual fender mounted rearview mirrors, 3-point shoulder harnesses, painted 14" wire spoke wheels with matching spare, front disc brakes, rear luggage rack that has been power-coated black, chrome-tipped exhaust, full tonneau cover, rubber floor mats, and correct jack and knock-off mallet. This particular MGB showcases a respectable older restoration with visible wear to both paint and interior. It was owned and driven by an avid MG enthusiast who rarely missed an opportunity to participate in club events, regional tours, and car gatherings! He was a member of the MG Club of St. Louis, had his vehicle registered with the North American MG Registry (#2-1162), and an American MG Association member. Recently, this car had the entire transmission rebuilt professionally with all new synchros, new 8" clutch kit with carbon face bearing & clutch slave cylinder, brand new radiator, new canvass soft top, and fresh tune up. Upgrades include complete rust proofing when restored in 1989, electric fuel pump, braided stainless steel oil cooler lines, carpeted trunk and spare tire cover with MG logo, and AM/FM cassette radio with front and rear speakers! The engine was treated to a complete rebuild approximately 30,000 miles ago with the block being decked and bored, all new pistons and rings, resurfaced head, complete valve job, new exhaust seats, cam bearing, pushrods, rod bearings, main bearings, new camshaft, timing chain, and new starter. The entire transmission was rebuilt just 8,000 miles ago with and new 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear synchros. A fresh 8"clutch assembly with carbon face bearing were replaced at that same time. The carburetor, manifold, and exhaust gaskets are new as well as the engine mounts. This is a wonderful car priced aggressively for the next MGB enthusiast to enjoy!
