Doors open and close nicely. Gaps are all good from what I could see and panel fit is pretty good overall for an old Chevy.Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great. Transmission shifts seamlessly without any noises. Now as for driving the car, ive taken it out mostly around the neighborhood here and there for a few functions, and sometimes we take it camping out of state. Brakes work excellent. Steers nice and swift without too much play in the wheel. Overall very sound and reliable car that can be used daily with minor tlc. Motor is an upgraded 350ci V8 replacing the original one that was long tired and gave up decades ago. My mechanic has been servicing the car for the last few years and has kept it in top shape and read to drive. Basically all stock with NO other upgrades or modifications other than the chrome accessories you see. Like I said, you could get in and drive this car anywhere in my opinion. Ive taken it out of state a few times and it has never let me down.Interior is beautifully presentable for a driver as you can see. The bench seat is out of a 64 Impala, going along with the whole Impala theme which included the 60 Impala trim by the front of the fenders, and the Impala inspired white insert by the rear quarters just to give it better eye appeal. Door panels, headliner and carpet were professionally installed by a local upholstery guy that did a nice job actually.Underside is very nice and dry overall, being an original California car. A couple of areas on the floorboards were patched here and there. Floorboards should be replaced to give it justice. Frame appears excellent with barely any surface rust on it. Very solid trunk bed and tailgate area (which are common to rust out on these). They have been fitted with diamond plate so you would not damage the finish, and you can put anything you want back there.THIS 1960 EL CAMINO IS NOT PERFECT, SO PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES, ASK QUESTIONS OR COME SEE IT IN PERSON. Paint is in FAIR shape and cleans up fairly well for a driver with normal imperfections. Gauges need some wiring and connecting as they are not working well. Perhaps a bulb or two may need replacing where needed. I have ALL NEW door and window weatherstripping that still needs to be installed (included with the car). A couple of small holes behind the seats on the sides of the cabin. So overall she is nowhere near perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. If you just want a VERY PRESENTABLE DRIVER needing tlc, this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some serious investment to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOURE GETTING INTO.
