1960 Cadillac Limo... Excellent Driver! Drives and shifts beautifully, many new parts and rebuilt parts... new muffler, new brakes, new shocks etc... call for details... 1960 Cadillac Limousine :(always chauffeured driven) 27,201 actual miles, ordered new by Margaret Beatrice Penn for the Chinqua Penn Plantation, North Carolina (near Greensboro NC) in 1959, owned by: Margaret Beatrice Penn (1881-1965) was the only daughter of Arthur Shoellkopf, chairman of the board of directors for Niagara Falls power Company and past mayor of Niagara Falls. She was educated at a private girls' school in New York and then traveled abroad for two years. In 1905, she married Julius Schwill, a Chicago millionaire, and spent 17 years in the prominent social circle of the city's north shore. Later, as mistress of Chinqua Penn Plantation, Betsy Penn hosted many charity and social events, including the annual kickoff dinner for the Reidsville Community Chest. Betsy Penn also was instrumental in funding the Reidsville Hospital, and it was by her hand that the Penn 4-H Center was established on the site of Corn Jug Farm. "Despite all her money and social position, she was a down-to-earth person," recalled Charles Talley, plantation gardener from 1929 until 1985. "She made special effort for everyone. Around Thanksgiving she'd ride over the plantation and ask all the foremen to make a list of the workers' children, their ages, and sizes. She'd be going to New York the next week and she'd buy a Christmas present for each." Bob Boyles, Chinqua Penn chauffeur,(was the only chauffeur for this 1960 Cadillac Limousine), remembered Betsy Penn as a perfect lady from the old school. "Although it was my job," said Boyles, " I never once opened a limo door for Mrs. Penn that she didn't thank me. I lost a real friend when she died in 1965. This Limousine had been inside storage at the Plantation for the last 41 years. We are currently searching Cadillac Dealerships for old records... this is a pristine unmolested Time Capsule of a car. This Limousine will start and drive, it is very roadworthy. It is all original, the interior is made of a light tan cloth and has stains on it, we put seat covers on them. (the cloth is very good, no tears, perhaps it could be dyed a darker? ) The Rear passenger doors were never meant to be open by the passenger, they were to be open by the chaufeur only, thus, only door handles that do not open back doors from the inside are there... I have never seen this in an old limo before. The dash has two cracks on it, the body is very solid, the paint has a some scratches and chips. But is very presentable. It is equiped with an autronic eye, and the power windows and antenna work well. The glass is perfect with no cracks, the tires, brakes, and dual exhaust is new. I would drive this limo anywhere, it starts easy, and has a good 390 engine and transmission. It has dual air conditioning, but does not blow cold. This limo does not have a divider. We have a clear North Carolina title in hand and we are ready to sell
