A complete frame on restoration with every nut and bolt touched was completed in May of 2009 with just under 1200 miles after restoration this car is ready to hit the roads. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this amazing Chevrolet Nomad. , , Finished in yellow with white inserts this wagon is an eye catcher anywhere it goes. The body was completely stripped down to the metal and finished flawlessly. There is absolutely not a speck of rust or corrosion anywhere on this beauty. While the body was being worked over all the chrome was straightened and refinished. Everything from the windshield trim to the bumpers have been finished to like new condition. , , All original parts cleaned, polished, and refinished to better than showroom condition. All glass is clean, window latches have been all rebuilt and are in like new. The doors open and close better than when the car was new., , , This Nomad cruises on the freeway at 70 while consuming little fuel due to the Tremec 5 speed manual transmission. The kit was purchased through Classic Chevy and included the transmission McLeod clutch, custom TKO cross member. , , The rear end was rebuilt and loaded with 3.73 gears. Corvette rally wheels were wrapped in 60 series rubber and sway bars were added to improve the handing of this wagon. , , Nothing was left untouched when this car was redone. It is really one of the nicest weve seen., , Before the interior was installed the Nomad received all new wiring, and Dynomat insulation. These steps resulted in a 50+ year old car that rides handles and behaves like a new car. Once the wiring and sound deadener was complete the car was shipped to Longview, WA for all new upholstery. The interior was refinished with all beige material including the carpet, seats, white headlines and polished headliner trim. , , A few aftermarket upgrades such as Vintage Air air conditioning. The original stereo remains and is currently feeding two door speakers although the car has been wired for sound throughout, , The engine is a 350 rebuilt with attention given to hogging out the heads, an aggressive sounding cam, polished intake. Holley Street Avenger Carb, headers and free flowing exhaust that exists at the rear bumper. , , This results in a cruiser that wont overheat in the warmest of climates like this Texas heat during the summer time.
