1948 Woody as daily driver? This one could be. This well done Woody sits on modern running gear for safety and performance. Engine is a 4.3 GM V-6 (getting 21 MPG on the highway) Edelbrock 4 barrel Carb and exhaust headers. Mated with a GM 200r4 automatic overdrive transmission. Power steering and Power brakes, DISC front and drum rear. Rear differential is a Ford 8 with 3.55 gear ratio. This is one quite smooth driving Woody. The owner who built this has put on over 19,000 miles. Several trips from the North West to sunny So Cal. Super reliable and of course tons of fun to drive. The wood is a mixture of new and old. All joints have been assembled using epoxy wood glue and several coats of marine spar varnish. The door fit is excellent, the wood work was done by a master craftsman. The sheet metal was sandblasted and the undersides of the floor pan, rear deck lid and fenders have been epoxy primer and sprayed with truck bed liner for its sealant protection and noise reduction qualities. Quite drive and handles like a modern car. All mechanical and gauges are fully functioning. If there ever was a car to buy vs building yourself, this is it. Fun, trouble free cruising from day one.
