Just before the bombing of Pearl Harbor (December 7th, 1941) Ford unveiled a redesigned pickup truck which caused them to no longer look like the cars. However, due to the involvement of the United States in WWII production of the 1942 Ford models was ceased on February 10th. Ford factories were completely redirected towards the war effort. Ford trucks would not be completely available to civilians until 1945. 1942 continues to be one of the rarest years found for Ford trucks., , This 1942 pickup features the original 225ci inline 6 cylinder engine that was professionally rebuilt 3 years ago. Other restoration efforts 3 years ago include new paint, new shocks, and a rebuilt 4-speed transmission (1st gear being a “creeper” gear). This truck has only about 300 miles since the restoration.
